Indonesian

Pendidikan bahasa Indonesia is one of the subjects that must be taught from the primary level to higher education. But what is very surprising as an Indonesian citizen whose education and learning Indonesian are still many who do not understand Indonesian well both orally and in writing. It is seen from the number of students who have a National Examination score is still very low.

Indonesian is the official language of the Republic of Indonesia Indonesiadan language of unity. In East Timor, the Indonesian language as a working language status.

From the linguistic point of view, the Indonesian language is one of the many varieties of Malay. Naming "Indonesian" begins from the introduction of the Youth Pledge, October 28, 1928, to avoid the impression "language imperialism" when the Malay name remains in use. This process led to the current berbedanyaBahasa Indonesia Malay variant of which is used in Riau and the Malay Peninsula. To date, Indonesian language is a living language, which continues to produce new words, either through the creation and absorption of local languages and foreign languages.

Although it is understood and spoken by more than 90% of citizens of Indonesia, Indonesian language is not the mother tongue for most speakers. Most of the citizens of Indonesia using one of 748 languages in Indonesia as a mother tongue. Phonology and grammar Indonesian is considered relatively easy.

Not infrequently students are treated like subjects Indonesian students at the Faculty of Literature and Language. After 12 years of studying Indonesian language, whether they are able to speak Indonesian properly, either in writing or terlisan?

And what about student proficiency in Indonesia S2? Like the D3 and S1 students, it turns out most of S2 and S3 students are weak in the Indonesian language. Brief exposure above proves the inability of most of (the?) Students in the Indonesian language, in this case writing. So what should be done professors Indonesian language was not all with undergraduate Indonesian?

In other words, every teacher should be able to become a lecturer Indonesian. The articles opinions directly and indirectly associated with the Indonesian language that was published in the print media was not too be missed. In the context of this paper, not Indonesian lecturers to teach students, but lecturers Indonesian and students alike learn Indonesian. When some of these efforts may dilaksakanakan heartily and happily by students and lecturers in Indonesian, we believe our graduates are not only capable and skilled in Indonesia in terlisan and writing, but also really love their national language itself.
